Hosted Call Recording Helping to Drive Cloud DemandThe massive growth of digital information predicted over the next eight years is forcing experts to warn against looking at in-house solutions for their storage needs. The information technology industry is slated to grow by hundreds of billions of dollars in the next eight years, which is not a surprise when considering the growth of information. In India alone, 40,000 petabytes of information is expected to grow to 2.3 million petabytes by 2020.
With that kind of growth, according to this Business Standard report, companies are looking to the cloud to accommodate their needs. One study for the Indian market said the cloud computing market will hit $4.5 billion in 2015 from its current level of $110 million. Just over one half of that total represents investments in cloud-based services, including hosted call recording services. The SaaS (News Because of the economic meltdown, companies began searching for cheaper methods to pull themselves through the slump, surviving, and in some cases, thriving. Cloud-based services proved a rich resource and the popularity is only growing, especially in hosted call recording solutions. Companies have moved to cloud-based services to communicate with global partners. Broadcasting networks utilize the cloud to reach sports fans on a global basis. Advertising agencies have gotten into the mix and use the cloud for their online campaigns that have proven vastly productive. Many university admissions offices are now relying on a cloud-based enrollment program to easily and cost-efficiently enroll more students. The roll of cloud-based services covers a wide expanse, from sports fans to stockbrokers. If anything is standing in the way of the predicted growth of cloud computing, it’s security. Hackers continue to be a pest and find their way around some extensive safety protocols, which has some companies leery of putting too much sensitive information in the cloud. Better built apps might be an option in increasing security. Some companies are staying away from the cloud not just because of security, but because they haven’t been convinced that the return on investment is a sure thing. But the idea of the cloud and what it’s already proven is too enticing to let go, and companies will likely be motivated to take part in discussions on how to solve the problems, build better apps, and live up to the expectations of consumers everywhere.
